How To Find Places To Slackline

How can you locate new slackline locations close to you and around the world? The good news is that you have a number of options including websites, apps, chat rooms, forums and more!

Let’s talk about various methods to find slackline locations near you and around the world in case you’re traveling and want to experience slacklining in another state or country.

Slackspot

This free app from slackline equipment manufacturer GIBBON is perfect for finding a place(s) near you to slackline! Find it on Google Play or your other phone app under Gibbon Slacklines App.

I downloaded the free app in seconds and had a play around to check out each function in detail.

The app has a number of great features including:

  • A series of YouTube videos to help you learn slacklining and improve your skills

and much more.

As far as the Slackspot feature itself to locate slackline locations, you can tap the Map button to view an interactive map to find places anywhere in the world.

See pic to the right for a view of what the location map for North, Central and South America looks like.

You can also view workout videos, fitness tutorials and view their slackline magazine to help you improve.

You might be interested to sign up for their free newsletter if you’re open to getting info emailed to you on a regular basis.

Benefits: It’s got a tonne of features and the interactive map is updated regularly. Plus it’s from GIBBON who of course are one of the biggest names in slackline equipment.

Slackmap

SlackMap is a website that offers a user-generated map of slacklining locations around the world. You can sign up and submit your local area(s) for slacklining and view far off locations around the world and perhaps even a few places close to you for slacklining.

While the biggest number of slackline locations are available in countries like Germany, France, USA, Poland, UK, and Spain among others, you may be interested to know that they have users and locations in far flung locations as Guatemala, Laos, Estonia and the United Arab Emirates.

You can also check in and let people know about your recent slacklining ordeals too.

Benefits: It’s a user generated app and you can speak with other slackliners.

Slackline associations

There are a number of slackline associations around the world to consult regarding locations to slackline as well as local rules and laws regarding where you can and can’t do it.

Do be careful because in some states and countries, rules prohibit you slacklining in certain areas (i.e. national parks, in public parks, using public utility poles, etc) so it’s best to know what the local laws are to avoid a fine.
